Cancellation and date changes
Deposits and date changes are the most disputed part of catering, so these terms are set out separately from our general terms and are attached to every quote.
Deposit
A date is held only once a deposit of 25% of the quote is received. The deposit is non-refundable and is credited against the final invoice.
Cancellation by you
| Notice given | Charge |
|---|---|
| More than 30 days before the event | DEPOSIT ONLY |
| 14 to 30 days before | 50% OF QUOTE |
| Fewer than 14 days before | 100% OF QUOTE |
Moving a date
One date change is permitted at no charge if requested more than 30 days before the event and we have the new date available. A change inside that window is treated as a cancellation and a new booking. Where a date moves because of aveilus (mourning) or a family bereavement, we will not apply a charge.
Headcount
Final headcount is due 7 days before the event and is the minimum charged. Increases after that are accommodated where the kitchen can, and charged per cover.
Cancellation by us
If we cannot cater your event โ including where a kashrus requirement emerges that we cannot meet, or our certification changes โ we refund everything paid, including the deposit, and we will name alternative caterers who hold your standard. We will tell you as soon as we know, never on the day.
Circumstances beyond control
Where an event cannot proceed because of a public emergency, venue closure or government restriction, we will hold monies paid as credit against a new date for 12 months, or refund 80% of monies paid.
