Simchas
Every simcha runs to a timetable. Ours starts with your standard.
Below is what we handle for each kind of event, and what we do not. Where a detail depends on your venue or your rav's ruling, we say so instead of promising.
Weddings
Fleishig · Mashgiach temidi · Cards displayed
From the chosson's tisch (the groom's gathering before the chuppah) and kabbalas panim (the reception for the kallah, the bride) through the seudah (festive meal) and the sheva brachos (the seven celebratory meals in the week that follows).
- Tisch: mashke table, herring and kichel, cake, seating for the men's gathering.
- Kabbalas panim: cold and hot stations, service through to the chuppah call.
- Seudah: plated or served courses, head-table service, simultaneous dishing for the dancing breaks.
- Late: cholov Yisroel coffee and viennoiserie, or a fleishig late station if the meal was fleishig.
- Multi-night sheva brachos: yes, up to 7 nights, in homes or halls. Priced per night, not per week.
What we do not do: floral, music or photography. We coordinate with your suppliers and hold the kitchen and service.
Bar and bat mitzvah
Fleishig / milchig / pareve · Shul or hall
A kiddush (the light meal following davening) after shul, a seudah in the evening, or both on the same day. Milchig and pareve kiddushim are common and simplify a shul kitchen's constraints; we will tell you which is easier in your venue.
- Kiddush: herring and dips, cholent, kugels, salads, cakes. Set before davening ends.
- Seudah: three or four courses, children's plates at a lower cover charge.
- Bat mitzvah teas and milchig luncheons: dairy under Cholov Yisroel, separate equipment.
- Shul rules: we work to your shul's Kiddush committee requirements and its own hashgacha where it has one.
Bris and shalom zachor
Short notice · Early morning · Friday night
A bris (circumcision, on the eighth day) is rarely bookable far ahead, and a shalom zachor (the gathering on the Friday night after a boy is born) lands on Shabbos. Both are logistics problems more than menu problems.
- Bris: set from 07:30 for a meal straight after shacharis. Milchig or pareve breakfast, or a fleishig seudah.
- Short notice: we hold capacity for brissim and will confirm within 24 hours.
- Shalom zachor: delivered and set before licht (candle-lighting). Chickpeas, cake, drinks, cold platters — nothing needing service.
- No staff attend on Shabbos. Everything is arranged so nothing needs cooking, heating adjustment or setup once Shabbos begins.
If a bris falls on a day we are already fully committed, we will say so on the phone rather than stretch a kitchen.
Shabbos and yom tov
Delivered before licht · No staff on site
Yom tov (festival) and Shabbos catering is delivered, set and left. What can be done afterwards is limited by halacha (Jewish law), and we plan around that with you rather than leaving it to the day.
- Delivery completed no later than 60 minutes before licht, with a signed handover.
- Warming: hotplate or blech set and switched on before Shabbos, on a timer where your rav permits one. Food is packed to be served at the temperature it arrives at.
- Cannot be done once Shabbos begins: cooking, reheating cold food, adjusting a flame, cutting salads or opening sealed packaging where your rav rules against it.
- Pesach, Rosh Hashanah and Sukkos ordering opens 6 weeks ahead and closes early. Sukkah delivery and serving arrangements on request.
We do not send email or take calls between licht on Friday and motzei Shabbos, or on yom tov. Enquiries sent then are answered afterwards.
Shul kiddushim and corporate
Recurring orders · Volume · Office delivery
Weekly and monthly kiddushim for shuls, sponsored kiddushim, Vaad and committee dinners, and kosher catering for offices where some guests keep a stricter standard than others.
- Volume: 30 to 600 covers from a single kitchen run.
- Recurring: standing weekly order with a fixed cycle menu and a set invoice.
- Corporate: sealed, double-wrapped and labelled with the hashgacha, so a guest can verify it without asking.
- Dietary notes and headcounts confirmed 7 days ahead.
